The City of Gainesville is seeking a self-motivated Performance and Data Analyst to assist the Strategic Initiatives Team in building a robust performance management system that evaluates organizational performance in alignment with the city's strategic direction and operational priorities.

The Strategic Initiatives Team leads long-term planning with the City Manager's Office. We leverage data and performance measures to guide operations. Our team employs people-centered design to improve experiences. We build partnerships to solve community challenges and foster engagement to develop inclusive participation. The team is comprised of a diverse group of individuals, each bringing a unique skill set and perspective to their roles. This diversity helps foster an environment of robust collaboration and creative results.

The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable about data and measuring aspects of operational functions, user experiences, community impact and desired outcomes. They will have familiarity with database and information system technologies and be proficient in MS Office Suite programs. Experience with FME, Python, Tableau and other related applications is preferred.

Some of the responsibilities include:
  • Oversee the City of Gainesville's openData portal and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and integrity, as well as collaborate with community partners.
  • Utilize the City's openData platform to create effective monitoring and reporting systems that tie into organizational decision-making.
