Description

One Degree is a nonprofit technology-driven organization that is revolutionizing the way low-income families access social services and benefits. Our mission is to empower people to create a path out of poverty for themselves and for their communities. We create modern tech-driven solutions that help families find, access, and manage nonprofit and social services.

Thousands of people in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County rely on One Degree’s core platform on our website (www.1degree.org) and mobile apps (iOS and Android) to access health care, food banks, employment services, and much more. Through One Home (OneHomeBayArea.org), we are working to ensure every family has a safe and stable home by making it easy to find and apply for affordable housing.

We’re a team of 11 full-time staff, with a solid foundation (supported by the Kresge Foundation, Tipping Point Community, Irvine Foundation, Google, Y Combinator, and many others). We are committed to diversity and especially encourage those from underrepresented communities to apply, including but not limited to people of color, LGBTQ community members, people with lived experience in low-income communities, and people with disabilities. We have a small product development team and we get stuff done. As a Software Engineer at One Degree, you will build and maintain products that help thousands of low-income families find the resources they need to overcome poverty. If this gives you goosebumps, read on.
