Morphic is a project of Raising the Floor, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping ensure that everyone has access to information and communication technologies, including those who face barriers due to disability, literacy, digital literacy, or aging.

Remote team dedicated to bringing the vision of Morphic to life. 
This position reports directly to the Product Owner based in College Park, Maryland. The Morphic team is currently working remotely due to shelter-in-place order. 

The job is a Voice of the Customer / User Experience lead, providing insights from UX research and usability testing. The work includes building relationships with organizations that serve elders and people with disabilities as well as those who have other barriers to using digital technologies, learning about the barriers they face, and conducting usability/UX sessions to test new design ideas and product features.

Skills and responsibilities

As part of the UX team that designs Morphic, you will:
  • Work with a dynamic, remote team to help Morphic grow.
  • Plan and run a regular program of UX / usability testing for Morphic’s current and future features on Mac and PC
  • Conduct regular outreach to organizations that serve the Morphic audience to:
  • Conduct “voice of the customer” interviews to learn about the needs and perspectives faced by these organizations and their members
  • Identify potential participants for UX /  usability testing
  • Build a network of contacts for Morphic outreach
  • Present insights from all research and testing activities in an engaging, useful format to the Morphic product design team
  • Build a collection of stories showing situations and needs that Morphic addresses

Minimum qualifications

Versatile experience in UX:  You have at least 3 year’s experience conducting in-person and remote usability testing, user and contextual interviews, accessibility testing, content design, and at least some experience with a strong user-centered design process.

  • Track-record of success: You have worked in the field of user experience and accessibility for at least 5 years with a strong portfolio of work.
