This is an exciting opportunity in the Information Technology Department. The Office 365 Exchange Administrator (EITE I/II) will be a lead engineer in the Office 365 team. 

Skills and responsibilities

The ideal candidate must be able to administer, create release roadmaps for Office 365 including Exchange Online and Microsoft Exchange, preferably in a hybrid environment, OneDrive, Teams, etc. The ideal candidate must also have sufficient technology knowledge and understanding of related infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory Federated Services, Azure Active Directory, Azure Active Directory Connect  in order to troubleshoot Office 365 system performance issues and/or desktop configuration. As an Office 365 Exchange Administrator, you will need to have strong technical leadership skills, be able to work well with both technical and non-technical staff, and have excellent communication skills. In this position, you will need to be able to own, manage, and complete projects from beginning to end in a timely fashion and must be able to work in a dynamic environment with a mixture of operational tasks and project assignments.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

Education: 
  • EITE I: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or a closely related field.
  • EITE II: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or a closely related field.

Experience: 
  • EITE I: three (3) years of increasingly progressive experience equivalent to performing technical work of complex difficulty to provide desktop, data security, application and system administration, and server or network administration or software applications to support end users, electronic business systems/solutions, and software applications for high availability and uptime.
  • EITE II: four (4) years of increasingly progressive experience equivalent to performing technical work of complex difficulty to provide desktop, data security, application and system administration, and server or network administration or software applications to support end users, electronic business systems/solutions, and software applications for high availability and uptime.

Acceptable Substitutions: Two (2) years of related experience may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the education requirement.

License or Certificates:
  • EITE I: Possession of an industry certification that demonstrates expertise in information technology field, such as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certificate for Windows Server Enterprise, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Network Associate (CCNA) certification, Brocade Professional IP Administrator (BPIPA) certification, OR an equivalent professional, industry recognized certification acceptable to the City.
  • EITE II: Possession and maintenance of a current (non-expired) industry certification that demonstrates expertise in the relevant information technology field, such as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certificate for Windows Server Enterprise, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Network Associate (CCNA) certification, Brocade Professional IP Administrator (BPIPA) certification, OR an equivalent professional, industry recognized certification acceptable to the City.

Preferred qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following competencies, as demonstrated in past and current employment history. Desirable competencies for this position include:
 
Job Expertise –
  • Advanced experience with Office 365 services including but not limited to SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Office Online, Teams, and Office 365 Groups.
  • Proficient in developing advanced PowerShell scripts.
  • Experience with Office 365 eDiscovery.
  • In-depth knowledge related to the Office 365 applications and features including Azure Directory.
  • SSO integration between Office 365 and major SSO providers.
  • Strong knowledge related to email security and security practice in general.
  • Advanced Office 365 platform configuration and troubleshooting, and patching, preferably using SCCM.
  • Office 365 MCSA, Windows Server 2012 MCSA, and/or Messaging MCSE certifications are highly desirable.
  • Five years of experience managing and troubleshooting ADFS, AAD, and AADConnect is highly desirable.
  • Five years of experience administering and troubleshooting Office 365 Exchange Online and Microsoft Exchange, preferably in a hybrid environment is highly desirable.
