As Federal Acquisition Strategy Specialist, you will work with the Sales Team to design and implement a strategy to secure the right projects with the right Federal clients while demonstrating our core values. The result is contracts that we can knock out of the park, bringing real improvement to the government’s digital services, and advancing Truss’s strategic plan. Accomplishing this will require a variety of skills from networking with partners to surveying the current federal landscape, and a detail-oriented approach to evaluation and operational processes.

In this position you will:

    • Develop and manage our leads system (monitor, qualify, and send fully qualified opportunities through the proposal process) across different contract award vehicles. 
    • Manage and cultivate relationships with federal agencies and industry partners (e.g. Code for America, Digital Services Coalition) that advance Truss’s business goals. 
    • Take the lead on qualified opportunities and maintain deal momentum and close deals. 
    • Manage the teaming process for bids in partnership with sales and legal.  
    • Collaborate with the Sales team on the proposal process.  
    • Monitor and analyze opportunities across different contract award vehicles as needed. 

Here's what we hope you'll bring:

    • You care about winning the right projects, not every project.  
    • 7+ cumulative years experience in both federal business development and contracting, which can be either through vendor or governmental experience.  
    • Experience developing and executing innovative acquisition strategies with federal agencies; bonus points for civilian rather than military or intelligence agencies.  
    • Strong understanding of federal government contracting vehicles and structures (IDIQ, BPA, 8a, STARS-III, COMET, etc). 
    • Experience leading bizdev/sales processes for your organization. Direct experience assessing opportunities, shaping proposals through the RFI/RFP process, bid evaluation, budgeting, profit & loss, and cost of capture. 
    • Tech background with an understanding of modern, agile software development. 
    • Great communication, including thoughtful listening skills, the ability to express complex ideas clearly and succinctly, and the ability to communicate well in writing. 
    • A willingness to seek differing opinions, ask for help, and take on challenges outside your expertise. 
    • Initiative with a bias for action. 
    • Effective time and project management skills with the ability to prioritize work assignments, work collaboratively with others, and adjust schedules based on changing requirements. 
    • A joyous approach towards networking. 
The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 per year.
