Description

The Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) is a nonprofit that connects Americans with the information they need to become and remain civically engaged, and ensures that our elections are more professional, inclusive, and secure. We do this by providing information the public needs to develop lifelong civic habits and by connecting election officials with tools and training so that they can best serve their communities.

To date,  we’ve published civic datasets that answer the questions “What’s on my ballot?” and “Who represents me?” which have been accessed over 200 million times. And we’ve trained thousands of election officials, serving over 80 million voters, on topics like election website design and cybersecurity best practices.

The CTCL Government Services team supports election administrators with tools, training, and best practices. We were recently contracted by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to deliver cybersecurity training  to every election office in the country.

While CTCL is based in Chicago, we're a remote team of 6 that relies on Zoom, Slack, and Google products to collaborate and stay connected. The Technology Associate will be managed by the Program Manager.

When you think about elections, you might think about popular candidates, “I voted” stickers, and all sorts of paperwork and deadlines. But behind the scenes are thousands of election administrators in state and local governments who are working hard to make sure ballots are counted and voices are heard.

To serve every community and make democracy work, election administrators need 21st-century tools and training. You can help them get it!

As the CTCL Technology Associate, you will implement streamlined, digital learning experiences that advance the tech and communication skills of America’s election administrators. You’ll work with the Government Services team and report to the Program Manager.
