Stae is a seed-stage technology start-up company that provides a set of software tools enabling cities, counties, and other local government agencies to manage their data resources effectively, thereby empowering analytics and insights. After several years of product development, Stae is now poised to aggressively bring its product into the market, and dramatically accelerate revenue growth.

We are seeking an inspired and inspiring Head of Growth, who possesses both experience in building a startup business and a strong interest in using technology to address the modern data challenges facing local governments. Candidates will ideally have a proven track record in leading SaaS (software-as-a-service) sales within the government (GovTech) sector. 

The Stae Head of Growth will work closely with the CEO and team to develop and refine Stae’s unique value proposition; execute a go-to-market sales strategy; and drive revenue generation and strategic business development partnerships. 

Skills and responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

●  Deliver Revenue Growth:
+ Own all plans and strategies for achieving Stae’s sales goals 
+ Be able to work collaboratively with local government partners to scope full solutions to problems using our product
+ Personally prospect new connections, and negotiate and close business
+ Work with the team to lead responses to RFPs
+ Provide our Board and CEO with accurate sales bookings and revenue forecasts 

●  Build Market Visibility:
+ Work with leadership to define key use case requirements, help understand the competitive landscape, product positioning, and define the go-to-market strategy
+ Develop thought leadership around the use of data in local government operations
+ Evangelize our product and point of view through blogs, social media platforms, and industry conferences

+ Strong network within and/or knowledge of the government technology sector
+ Exceptional ability to communicate complex analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences, through excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Experience with marketing and selling a highly technical or very early stage product
+ An interest in using data in research or applied settings to improve policy
+ Resilient with the highest ethical and professional standards
+ Technical experience and data background preferred, including experience developing analytics or data pipelines with open source programming languages (R, Python, JavaScript)
