Summary of Work  

As a part of the State of ND’s Information Security Division, the Cybersecurity Threat Intel Analyst will work on a team that provides cutting-edge, innovative, and thoroughly-vetted finished intelligence products, including high-quality papers, briefings, recommendations, and findings for senior-level government and private sector decision-makers. Working out of the State and Local Intelligence Center (SLIC, the successful candidate will work with local, state and Federal law enforcement agencies; the Department of Emergency Services, Department of Homeland Security and private sector partners to develop comprehensive intelligence products designed to inform key stakeholders in order to protect the State of North Dakota’s cyber and critical infrastructure.
 
Duties and Tasks  

•Collects, processes and disseminates cyber intelligence information derived from multiple sources for intelligence purposes.
•Creates analytical products related to threat information received from Federal, State, and Local Governments in addition to information from private sector stakeholders.
•Gather, synthesize, and analyze open source intelligence information in support of counter improvised-threat scenarios.
•Conduct analysis of a broad range of cultural, political, economic, and social issues potentially impacting the public/private sector and critical infrastructure.
•Provide proficient and authoritative intelligence analysis to support senior level decision-makers and other public safety customers in achieving their objectives in law enforcement and other public safety and cyber operations.

Minimum Qualifications  

Minimum requirements for the ideal candidate will include:

•Ability to qualify for and maintain a secret level security clearance

And one of the following:

•An associate degree in cybersecurity, information technology, or related degree 
 ◦No experience is necessary; however, preference will be given to candidates with professional work experience in information technology, cybersecurity, emergency management, infrastructure protection,  or research.

•One year education in cybersecurity, information technology, or related degree and one year of current and progressive work experience included computer systems security activities
•Two years of current and progressive work experience including computer systems security activities
