Summary of Work  

As part of North Dakota Information Technology, EduTech provides North Dakota K-12 educators and students with opportunities that extend learning in the classroom and beyond focusing on the use of technology to improve student achievement.  Successful candidate will provide customized professional development to K-12 educators, administrators and state agencies who use PowerSchool, the statewide K-12 student information system as well as providing responses to helpdesk tickets and maintaining customer relations.  Also, training and support for districts using the State Longitudinal Data System, eTranscript and other applications, as well as working in collaboration with individuals involved in the collection of student data within Department of Public Instruction.  The incumbent in this position will report to the PowerSchool Manager.

Individual must have strong customer service skills supporting users at all levels.  Must be able to work well with people and possess strong communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical and technical users for activities associated with the implementation, training and development to PowerSchool customers and the K12 community

Individual must be able to perform in a fast-paced, progressive, and challenging team environment; possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.  Individual must also be able to work in a deadline intensive work environment and possess the organizational and multi-tasking skills needed to organize work and meet deadlines.

Duties and Tasks  
  • Conduct needs analysis, research, develop, produce documentation and deliver a diverse scope of professional development for all PowerSchool topics; for the State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) and its sub applications including e-Transcript customers on a regular basis.
  • Provide timely responses to service management tickets and maintain customer relations; provide day to day phone and e-mail support regarding PowerSchool and related student data issues; resolve issues according to organizational guidelines; work with vendors to resolve large scale application issues; and work closely with other divisions to resolve issues affecting customer support.
  • Facilitate PowerSchool implementations for new customers: conduct demos as requested by school districts; provide consultations regarding the data model and initial input of data into the PowerSchool application; assist with the data extract from previous student information system if needed.
  • Maintain proficiency with PowerSchool application and database; research and conduct testing with beta versions of PowerSchool before release to customers; and assist in the maintenance and updates to the PowerSchool support site and blog.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the K12 community and assure that service levels meet customer expectations.

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a closely related field and two years of current & progressive professional level work experience in K-12 directly related information technology training & support.   At least one of these years must include administrative experience with a student information system.
