Over one million people in the State of Colorado rely on state-managed technology to access health care, food banks, employment services, and much more. Business Technology is working on solutions to serve Coloradans through bold and innovative health and human services, ensuring that individuals and families have the resources they need. 

Reporting to the Director of Operations, and working with a diverse team of mission-driven colleagues, you will be responsible for building and maintaining products that help hundreds of thousands of people access the resources they need to be safe, healthy and achieve their aspirations in the community of their choice.

Skills and responsibilities

As Product Manager, you will...
  • set the product roadmap in collaboration with Program Leadership and ensure the product is serving programmatic goals

  • facilitate, from start to finish, the development of our products - from idea to design to implementation to release and analysis - that directly help low-income and at-risk families

  • run and manage the products on a day-to-day basis, which entails gathering feedback, creating and prioritizing tickets, assigning work, communicating changes, coordinating the implementation of features, and ensuring bugs are fixed

  • collaborate closely with development resources to scope, design, and implement work

  • collect and synthesize product input and feedback

  • identify product opportunities through research, behavioral, and other data

  • communicate with internal and external stakeholders - including low-income families, other staff, and partners - on product changes, feedback, concerns, questions, etc.

  • develop and support departmental and cross-departmental product partnerships

Education and Experience:

  • Have earned a Bachelor's degree 

And have...

  • 3 years of software product management experience OR 3 years of experience working with product managers and demonstrated capacity for product management

  • technical expertise or understanding of software development best practices

  • experience working with a variety of technical stakeholders, including engineers and designers

  • experience working with a variety of non-technical stakeholders, including executive management, front-line staff, as well as average users

  • expertise in working with data and drawing conclusions based on user behavior

  • extreme attention to detail

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • the ability to quickly identify problems and come up with solutions

Substitutions: 

Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
