Summary of Work  

North Dakota Information Technology provides specialized technology and support services. These functions include design, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer systems, network administration, computer hardware and software support, help desk, forms management and technology training. The successful candidate must be able to make sound decisions with minimal guidance, stay current with trends and changes in the area of technical expertise and related areas. Must also possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate individuals and create a strong team environment. The successful candidate is a specialized System Administrator with experience in GIS, field GIS devices and equipment, and the entire Esri technology stack, including, but not limited to, server, desktop, enterprise databases, cloud, and mobile. 

Duties and Tasks  

•Administer and maintain ArcGIS Server environment including GIS software installations, configurations and upgrades in both on-premise and cloud solutions
•Support IT functions through the management of the GIS servers and troubleshooting ArcGIS software
•Implement continuous integration/deployment platforms to assist software development staff
•Provide system support for all applications as assigned
•Evangelize mobile collection techniques, technology and team successes
•Provide information technology training\mentoring

Requires one of the following:
•Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, management information systems or a closely related field that included computer science coursework and three years of current, progressive, and specialized work experience supporting, administering and implementing complex, enterprise servers and applications. 
•Associates degree in a computer science, management information systems or a closely related field that included computer science coursework and five years of related experience current, progressive, and specialized work experience supporting, administering and implementing complex, enterprise servers and applications. 
 

Preferred qualifications

Preferred Qualifications  

Preference will be given to those with demonstrated skills/experience in:
•ESRI suite of GIS software including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Portal
•GIS development utilizing Esri’s mobile data collection technologies and technology stack including desktop, server, and web development
•Enterprise geodatabases, feature creation, data editing and map production
•Geocortex Essentials
•Configuring and securing IIS web servers, Windows Operating Systems and SQL Server
