California’s court system is the largest in the world and serves more than 38 million people. The Judicial Council of California (JCC) manages that system. 

The California Court Digital Service, a new team at the JCC, works to improve access to justice for Californians with technology and design. 

The Web Analytics Lead will help our cross functional team redesign online legal resources for our 16 million users.  We are experimenting with case types that touch the experience of divorce, evictions, domestic violence and credit card debt. 
  • You will be the internal expert in our analytical platform (Google product suite) and be able to identify, measure and track opportunities to deliver a superior web experience for visitors
  • Develop and report on web user metrics to guide content decisions and help showcase the impact of new content that can be shared with stakeholders across teams
  • Design, implement, and craft summary reports about additional experiments to measure the impact of digital service interventions
  • Seek out, advocating for, and acquiring data from courts and system partners.
  • Drive A/B testing and program evaluation of self-help projects.
  • Determining data needs in order for California Courts Digital Services to rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of court self-help projects.
  • Automate data collection and evaluation between multiple data systems. 
  • Writing outcome reports with clear, accurate explanation of evaluation results and/or develop user-centric dashboards  in Google Data Studio or Power BI

Skills and responsibilities

  • Have teamwork experience with designers, engineers, and government stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency with Google product suite (Analytics, Tag Manager, Optimize)
  • Believe in user-centered design and design research.
  • Desire to improve government processes and policies with data.
  • Excellent writing/presentation skills, especially in the ability to communicate complex data related ideas to lay audiences.
