Writers will work with Berkeley's Digital Communications Coordinator and subject matter experts citywide to develop content for Berkeley's new website.
The contracted writers will be responsible for developing new content for an estimated 200 high priority pages for the City's new website. Writers will be provided page briefs outlining the objectives, audience, and key messages of each assigned piece of content, as well as the names and contact information for relevant department subject matter experts. Writers will interview subject matter experts to collect necessary information to develop each page and understand the function the page plays on the City website. The writers will deliver initial drafts written using plain language principles, online readability best practices, and following the City’s web style guide. Drafts will be subject to factual review by subject experts and stylistic review by the Digital Communications Coordinator and City Communications Director.
