There’s an abundance of valuable public data out there, but it’s buried in siloed, balkanized government databases where it lies largely unusable. Vigilant is a platform for public records data search and monitoring. We unlock that information, make it actionable, and help our customers leverage it to make critical decisions. 

Our customers span financial services, politics, public affairs, and media. Our product suite includes a universal search layer for public data and sophisticated monitoring systems.

Our team is a mix of engineers, open data geeks, and political researchers. We’re looking for candidates comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. As our first marketing hire, the Marketing Manager will build and implement the foundations of a successful marketing effort. You will generate high awareness around and interest in Vigilant’s solutions in our target markets and increase Vigilant’s visibility and credibility. This role is both broadly strategic and intensely tactical. You’ll be planning strategies - and executing on the nuts and bolts of them. Insightful analysis and impactful content generation is the core of the role. You’ll create useful and informative content that helps customers understand the need for Vigilant’s platform and the application of public data more broadly.

The work of the Marketing Manager will ultimately be expected to result in a significant increase in the number of inbound leads and expand our business. The space we work in — helping our customers access the information they need from public data to make critical decisions — is exciting and important, and there are a range of exciting opportunities to communicate around this.

Skills and responsibilities

- Develop content that adds insight and delivers value for our customers 
- Develop and enhance company marketing materials and collateral 
Expand and enhance our marketing website and digital presence 
- Grow our audience and email list 
- Create inbound leads through website and marketing channels 
- Generate Industry press coverage 
- Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

- 1-3 years professional experience in analysis, content development, marketing, or communications 
- Previous experience writing blogs, reports, and analytical content 
- A love for great copy and clear and intelligent communication

Preferred qualifications

 - Strong knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) 
- Experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading multi-channel marketing campaigns that engage, inform, educate, and motivate 
- Experience with Adobe InDesign or similar software 
- CRM Experience (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive)
